Summary of tardies and early departures

English Slovenčina

The teacher can record an absence, tardiness, or early departure from class in the class register: Attendance of students

Since the report card includes the number of missed lessons, EduPage automatically adds up missed lessons, late arrivals, and early departures into a single number.

By default, the calculation of tardiness is based on minutes. For example, if a student is late by 20 minutes one day and 25 minutes the next, EduPage adds up 45 minutes, which counts as one missed lesson.

However, it is possible to change this calculation and set it so that each late arrival counts, for example, as 0.2 of a missed lesson: I need late arrivals to be counted in the attendance record regardless of the length of the delay

In addition, schools may configure whether instances of tardiness are automatically marked as excused, unexcused, or recorded as unresolved: Where can I set whether tardies are automatically counted as excused, unexcused, or unresolved?

By default, the system is set to “unresolved.” This means that each late arrival must be accompanied by a justification submitted by the student or guardian. Based on the provided justification, EduPage automatically categorizes the tardiness as either excused or unexcused and includes the corresponding portion of the missed lesson in the attendance record.

As a result, at the end of the academic year, there is no need to manually total late arrivals or apply separate rules for their inclusion in attendance statistics.

Late arrivals may also be excused using electronic justifications submitted by parents.

For each student, the attendance record provides a detailed breakdown showing how absences, tardiness, and early departures are calculated into the daily attendance total. At the bottom of the table, cumulative values for each semester are displayed, offering a clear overview of the student's attendance performance.

The final attendance figure is, by default, rounded to the nearest whole number on the report card: How to set the rounding method for missed lessons?

Note:
The EduPage system enables this type of automatic summation of tardiness starting from the second semester of the 2024/2025 school year.
